Beta Kappa Chapter
The Beta Kappa chapter was chartered at the University of Texas at Austin in 1930,
where it operated until mid 1995. In the spring of 1999, a group of highly motivated
students created Beta Beta Beta in the hope of re-establishing a presence for Delta
Sigma Pi at the University of Texas at Austin. On May 6, 2000, the Beta Kappa chapter
was officially reactivated.
Chapter Values
Delta Sigma Pi currently enjoys its position as a premier symbol of professional
leadership within the corporate world as well as here at The University of Texas
by focusing on the following:
Professionalism
Delta Sigma Pi is primarily a professional fraternity. It is composed of elite professionals
who are committed to sharpening their skills and developing their careers. We organize
professional events throughout the year to allow brothers to explore different business
arenas and to develop a network of leaders from the business community. Some of
our most recent events include:
- Networking dinner with BBA Career Services
- Resume and Excel Workshops
- Etiquette Dinners
- Corporate Mock Interviews
- Study Abroad Panel
Community Service
One of our major goals is to be of service to the community. We actively seek opportunities
to volunteer our time towards improving the lives of others. Our activities include:
- Junior Achievement
- Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week
- Project 2009
- Candle Lighters
- Capital Area Food Bank of Texas
- Keep Austin Beautiful
- Habitat for Humanity
Social Activity
Brothers work hard and play hard. Beyond weekly social activities, we also organize
many events that involve other chapters of Delta Sigma Pi, alumni brothers and other
organizations on campus throughout the year. Some of our social events include:
- Formals
- Camping Trips
- Boat Parties
- Fraternity Barbeques
- OU Weekend Trips
Academics
It is important for brothers of Delta Sigma Pi to maintain strong work ethics, study
habits and time management skills. The National Fraternity offers a number of scholarships,
including the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key. This prominent award is given to the
highest-ranking student of business administration at each school, regardless of
whether he or she is a brother.
